Doug oversees engineering operations for all properties managed by Schnitzer West in the Puget Sound region. He is responsible for all maintenance, physical structures, plant operations, and code compliance.
Doug first joined Schnitzer West in May of 2000 as the Chief Engineer of a biomedical research facility. Prior to that, Doug served as a Master Chief Electrician with the US Navy for 22 years followed by a stint with Wright Runstad as a building engineer. He has a vast knowledge of mechanical, electrical and fire life safety systems, high-rise commercial operations, bio-medical facilities, and distribution warehouse operations.
Doug holds a Bachelor of Science degree in General Science with a triple major of Mathematics, Military Management, and Computer Science from City University in Bellevue, and is LEED AP certified. He is also a vocational instructor certified by the University of Southern Illinois, and holds a Master Electrician certification from the state of Washington.
